My goal is to document the algae (and related protozoans) from the Keweenaw Peninsula, MI. I started this project in 2001 for a phycology course taught by Dr. Michael Gretz at Michigan Technological University, Houghton, MI while I was a Ph.D. student in Biological Sciences. Since then I have continued to expand and develop this website with his assistance. Enjoy the collection but note that I may have mis-identified some specimens, especially when identified to species.
